Daddy's Girl Dairy was born long before her cheeses became available in 2004.
Research and development began with years of natural rearing--as guided by Juliette de Bairacli Levy in The Complete Herbal Handbook for Farm and Stable. I had been regularly and repeatedly warned by most other goat owners that my herd would not survive the first winter without chemical medicines given for parasites. Before I proceeded with farmstead cheese plans, I had to discover for myself whether my herd would thrive without harsh chemicals and with herbal remedies. I have been blessed with a healthy, beautiful and happily contented herd raised without the "undesirables". (My list of "undesirables" appears on the Food checklist page so you can take it with you when you shop for your locally raised food.)
Daddy's Girl Dairy is a true farmstead, with no sales or purchases of milk for the making of our cheese on this farm. Cheeses are artisanally created for your health and enjoyment. The fresh cheeses from Daddy's Girl Dairy were recognized and honored by the James Beard Foundation during the Taste America celebration at Williams Sonoma in Charlotte in 2007.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
